Community Guidelines
Anvyl is a public-by-default forge. Cohorts see your streaks and read your posts. These guidelines are short on purpose. Follow them and the forge stays useful for everyone.
1. Principles
Three things hold the forge together. Everything below derives from them.
- Honest streaks. A logged action means you actually did it. Faking it cheats your cohort and yourself.
- Direct, respectful talk. The voice of Anvyl is direct, not cruel. Push your cohort. Don't degrade them.
- Public by default, opt-in for private. If you would not say it on a stage, don't post it on Anvyl. Use private mode for things that should stay private.
2. Show up honestly
- Log what you did. One action = one logged entry. Don't pre-log, batch-log, or backfill weeks of fictitious work.
- One account per person. No alts to inflate cohort metrics, dodge moderation, or game flame reactions.
- No scripted clients. Don't automate streak entries, flame taps, or post submissions.
- Honest archetypes. Onboarding signals matter — the matcher places you with people whose tendencies actually fit yours. Don't answer to game the placement.
We have automated and manual checks for streak integrity. Confirmed fraud is treated as a serious violation (Section 6).
3. Treat your cohort with respect
- Push, don't degrade. "Match my pace" is fine. "You're worthless" is not.
- No targeted harassment. Don't pile on a cohort member, screenshot them outside the platform with the intent to mock them, or coordinate flame brigades against an individual.
- No doxxing. Do not post anyone else's address, phone, place of work, family details, or other identifying information without their permission.
- Disagree about the work, not about who is allowed to do it.
- Respect "no." If someone says stop, stop.
4. Prohibited content
The following is removed on sight. Serious violations result in an immediate, permanent ban.
4.1 Zero tolerance
- Child sexual abuse material. Reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement.
- Credible threats of violence against any person or group.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery.
- Content that facilitates terrorism, mass violence, or trafficking.
- Doxxing — sharing private identifying information about another person.
4.2 Hate & harassment
- Content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, immigration status, or veteran status.
- Slurs and dehumanising language.
- Sustained harassment, including coordinated piling on a single user.
4.3 Self-harm
- Content that encourages, glamorises, or provides instructions for self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders.
- Posts that frame discipline, streak failure, or "skipping" in terms of self-punishment beyond ordinary expression of frustration.
If you or someone you know is in crisis, contact local emergency services. In the US, call or text 988. In the UK, call 116 123 (Samaritans).
4.4 Spam, scams, fraud
- Phishing, scams, pyramid schemes, fake giveaways.
- Affiliate links, drop-shipping promotion, paid testimonial swaps.
- Repetitive posting of the same content across cohorts.
- Selling Anvyl accounts, streaks, badges, or archetypes for money.
4.5 Illegal & restricted
- Content that violates US or your local law.
- Content that promotes illegal drug sales or the use of controlled substances.
- Content advertising regulated goods (firearms, alcohol to minors, pharmaceuticals) to a user base that includes minors.
- Content that infringes someone else's copyright or trademark.
4.6 Adult content
Anvyl is not an adult platform. Pornographic content, sexually explicit images, and sexually suggestive posts directed at other users are not allowed.
5. Reporting & appeals
5.1 How to report
- In the app, tap the menu on the post, reply, or profile and choose Report.
- Pick the reason that fits best. The detail you add helps the reviewer.
- Three independent reports against the same post auto-hide it from public view pending review.
5.2 How reports are reviewed
Reports are triaged by priority. Threats and zero-tolerance content jump the queue and target a response within 4 hours. Other reports are reviewed within 20 hours. A human reviewer decides the outcome; we do not auto-ban based on report volume alone.
5.3 Appeals
If your content was removed or your account was actioned, you can appeal by writing to support@useanvyl.com. Include your account email, a link or screenshot of the content, and what you would like reviewed. We target a first response within 20 hours and a final decision within 7 days.
6. Consequences
Moderation outcomes scale with severity and history.
- Warning. First-time low-severity violations. The content is removed and you are notified.
- Temporary suspension. Repeat violations or a single mid-severity one. You keep your account and streak history but cannot post during the suspension.
- Streak reset. For confirmed streak fraud, the affected letter's heat and level are reset. We do not refund subscription time.
- Permanent ban. Zero-tolerance violations or repeat severe violations. Account closed; email hash retained per the Privacy Policy to block re-registration.
